Recently, I had the joy of crossing off my 5th goal: visiting two dear friends who live abroad.
For a long time, I kept postponing this trip. Life got busy, and it always seemed like there would be a better time to visit. But as time passed, I realized that there may never be a perfect moment. So, I made a decision to finally make it happen.
First, I visited my friend Egle in Krakow, Poland. We talked about everything under the sun, from our childhood dreams to our hopes for the future. Being there, in that moment, made me realize the importance of seizing every opportunity to connect with the people we love.
Next stop was Riga, Latvia, where my friend Andra lives. We laughed, reminisced, and made new memories together. It was a reminder of how precious friendship is, and how distance should never stand in the way of seeing the people we care about.
Life is indeed short, and time waits for no one. It’s easy to get caught up in the busyness of everyday life and forget to nurture the relationships that truly matter. But my recent trip reminded me that these moments of connection are what make life meaningful.
So, if you’ve been putting off that visit to a friend who lives far away, I urge you to reconsider. Pick up the phone, book that ticket, and make it happen. Because in the end, it’s the moments spent with loved ones that we’ll treasure the most. Don’t postpone visiting your dear friends – they’re waiting for you, ready to welcome you with open arms.
