I recently crossed out my goal number 9: a random act of kindness. This goal was about living consciously and being sensitive to the world and people in need. I wanted to become more aware of those around me and to help where I could. So, I created a goal to give small donations of money whenever I saw someone in need. My target was to donate a total of 108 euros (a number I consider magical) within one month.
The opportunities to help came in various forms. First, I met a homeless punk girl in Germany. She reminded me of myself during my teenage years when I used to hitchhike around. I also came across several GoFundMe pages where people were raising money for their dreams. Contributing to these pages felt good because I was helping someone get closer to their goals.
I made some small donations to a local temple, which felt like giving back to my community. Additionally, I donated to an international charity, extending my help beyond my immediate surroundings.
By setting this goal, I wanted to change myself to be more sensitive to the needs of others. Now that I’ve completed it, I feel more aware and ready to continue living with this mindset. Even small acts of kindness can make a positive change in someone’s life, and I’m excited to keep looking for these opportunities.
This experience has taught me the value of small gestures and the importance of being mindful of others. I feel proud of myself for achieving this goal and look forward to continuing to make a positive impact, no matter how small.
