Achieving Spiritual Growth: My Tilaka Journey (goals #14-15)

2024-10-17

I recently crossed off two more goals from my list: goals number 14 and 15! I committed to applying full Tilaka, which is a sacred mark used in Gaudiya Vaishnavism, for 7 days and then for 1 month. This practice is powerful and meaningful in my spiritual journey, and I’m thrilled to share my experience.

Before this challenge, I had never practiced applying Tilaka every day. I knew its significance but often felt unsure or too busy to make it a daily routine. However, I decided to change that. I wanted to fully immerse myself in this spiritual practice, so I set out to apply Tilaka every day for one month.

For the first week, I felt a deep sense of connection. Each morning, as I applied the Tilaka, I felt a rush of bliss and peace. It became a beautiful way to start my day, reminding me of my spiritual goals and the values I want to embody.

As the days went by, I noticed that my mindset began to shift. I felt more centered, calm, and focused. The act of applying Tilaka became not just a ritual but a meaningful part of my spiritual practice. It reminded me to pause and reflect, bringing a sense of joy to my daily life.

By the end of the month, I realized how transformative this experience had been. Not only did I strengthen my commitment to my spiritual path, but I also developed a new appreciation for the practice of Tilaka. I’m grateful for the opportunity to challenge myself and grow in this way.

I encourage anyone interested in spiritual practices to find something that resonates with them. You might be surprised at the joy and bliss that comes from dedicating time to your spiritual journey!
